I am blessed to sit at the desk in my church study this morning and pen thoughts as I reflect on this journey of Life.
I want to give some praise today to the Body of Christ, the congregation at the Hancock Church of God
I am amazed at the wonderful spirit and work ethic of this group of people, and I want them and our viewers to know it.
This Sunday, Father's Day, will mark our three-month, ninety days of tenure as Pastor. It has been such a peaceful and smooth transition, from the move from Virginia, to settling here in Hancock.
The church pulled together for an all-out blitz, a Saturday workday and accomplished so much!
Cleaning, moving out furniture, non-essentials, men up on lifts changing external light bulbs, cleaning windows, gutters, raising our American flag, women cleaning the inside, sanitizing, on hands and knees cleaning base boards, wiping down the base of wooden pews, and on and on.
We celebrated with a wonderful lunch, chili, and soup with bread, then a small rest and conversation. Such wonderful fellowship!
One particular note, the lift we rented for outside work had lost its charge and we were not able to finish on that Saturday. One of our men took the lift home, charged it, and Sunday after service, in the rain, he and his son finished changing the external lights and work was completed. Wow, what a commitment to the House of God!
We, the church has now invested in technology that will provide security with child check-in for our youth and children's ministry and further allow for recording attendance and live streaming capabilities. Additionally, we have published an app that allows for online giving. Our latest development has been reinstituting our Wednesday night service at 6:30 p.m. in the sanctuary.
All are welcome!
Is it all perfected? Of course not. It is all a work in progress as we journey life. But we journey together! We try, we fail, we succeed, we laugh, we cry, we get up, and we move on. It is a joyous thing to see what God is doing in the lives of His people.
A note, of gratitude and thankfulness to the Congregation of the Hancock Church of God.
