Spring Cleaning!

ree

It is going to be a glorious weekend!

Saturday, we at the Hancock Church of God, will gather for a Spring Cleaning work day. We will labor and sweat. I'm sure at times we will step back and think about "how to?", "what to?", and can we?" before the day is done. Then we will laugh and give praise to God for His kingdom service. Skills and talents will be on display! Some will provide the comfort of conversation and coffee. We will break bread together, fellowship through the day, and when it is all over we will look and say, Okay…..we will add that to the next work day, and will be thankful for all that is done.

Sunday, we will gather again for worship. I will bring a message on, "The Vitality of the Church" from Acts 2. We will be honored to accept about nine members into fellowship at the end of the service. People who have attended, contributed, labored, and completed membership orientation will make a public commitment to unite with the church body.

It will be a glorious weekend!

"So we built the wall, and the entire wall was joined together up to half its height, for the people had a mind to work. - Nehemiah 4:6

God, when He has public work to do, never fails to raise up instruments for accomplishing it. In the person of Nehemiah, who possessed great natural acuteness, energy, and fervent piety and heroic devotion, God provided a leader, whose high qualities fitted him for the demands of the crisis. Nehemiah's vigilance anticipated every difficulty. His prudent measures defeated every obstruction, and with astonishing rapidity this Jerusalem was made again, "a city fortified".

May God raise up leaders in this hour! Let us devote our abilities to kingdom service. Let us not be swayed by the ridicule of Sanballet... let the Church build! Let us build with the old, let us build with the new, let us build with the courage in the face of adversity.

Let us build to the glory of God!
